Key Stage 3 (Years 7 - 8)

We follow the KS3 National Curriculum.

We assess our students by a combination of classwork, homework and end of term tests (Optional tests or past SATs papers, designed by the Qualification and Curriculum Development Agency).

Key Stage 4 (Years 9 - 11)

We follow the KS4 National Curriculum using the Edexcel examination board. The students currently study the linear specification of Edexcel. We assess our students by a combination of their classwork, homework and examinations. The assessment is 100% written examination.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The MAS (more able students) also go on organised Educational trips where they learn and observe the use of mathematics in a real life context. We also offer the opportunity to sit the UKMT challenge where students compete against other schools on a national scale.

Every teacher puts in a range of different in-class intervention for individual or groups of students as the need arise in order to bridge students’ learning gaps and maximise students’ potential.

All teachers run at least one after school or lunch time revision classes for year KS4 classes

Targeted borderline KS4 students have 1 hour after school revision one – to – one session with an external peer mentor to increase both their achievement and attainment in maths.

Teachers run controlled assessment practice sessions for students studying for their GCSE statistics.
