Key stage 4 (Years 9-11)

Are you interested in why people behave the way they do? What makes criminals offend? What does it mean to be a global citizen?

Do you watch the news or read the newspaper? Do you want to know the impact of the media on you? If you do, you should like Sociology.

Sociology GCSE involves an in-depth study of sociological methods, which is how researchers try to find out about what makes us behave as we do. The course also studies the various attempts to discover how we explain human behaviour, leading to units focusing on issues in UK society including Family, Education, Sport, Crime & deviance, inequality, global citizenship and the mass media.

Intervention classes are held on Wednesdays 3.30pm – 4.30pm and Fridays 3.00pm - 4.00pm.
